Welcome Claire!

Claire is a pharmacist, holding a PharmD from the University of Bordeaux and a Master degree in Toxicology from Université Paris Descartes. She began her research path in neuroscience, studying individual susceptibility to addiction in Nadia Benturquia’s lab in Paris. She then specialized in cancer research through a PhD in neuro-oncology within Thomas Daubon’s group in Bordeaux, where her work explored lactate-driven metabolic adaptations involved in glioblastoma development and relapse.

She now joins the Bentires-Alj lab to investigate the biological mechanisms underlying breast cancer dormancy, focusing in particular on the bi-directional interactions between dormant/metastatic cancer cells and their microenvironment, with the final aim of limiting breast cancer recurrence and therapy resistance within metastatic niches.
